If you are 70½ or older, a QCD is a great way to support the Spokane Symphony. QCD’s made from your IRA (up to $105,000 per person per year or $210,000 per couple) are not reportable as taxable income. If you are 73 or older, you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) which can also be used as a donation.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER
For tax purposes, the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) must pass directly from your IRA to the Spokane Symphony, NOT withdrawn from your account. Contact your Financial Advisor who will make the distribution directly to the Spokane Symphony with your approval.

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a smart way to give under a public charity. It is done by making an irrevocable gift of cash or other assets to a financial or community institution, receiving a tax deduction, and as a “donor-advisor” may make non-binding grant recommendations to benefit the charities you care about. Some financial or community institutions you might think of are Innovia, Schwab Charitable, or Fidelity Charitable, among others.

Join the Spokane Symphony Legacy Society by naming us in your estate plans. Naming the Spokane Symphony or the Spokane Symphony Endowment as a beneficiary represents a form of legacy giving.
