Richard Wagner
Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde

Anton Bruckner
Symphony No. 3 in D Minor

The Spokane Symphony’s seventh Music Director, Eckart Preu, returns with music of drama and depth. Shy composer Anton Bruckner dedicated his Third Symphony to Wagner after plucking up the courage to visit the great master. Wagner’s own Tristan und Isolde is a groundbreaking work that pushed composition into previously unexplored areas of musical force.

“For 15 years, the Spokane Symphony was my musical home. From my first upbeat to my last cutoff, I admired the anything-impossible spirit and the incredible passion and pride of the musicians and Spokane audience. I look forward to seeing you all.”  —ECKART PREU
