SPOKANE —The new Fox Family Series debuts with “Underwater Bubble Show,” a Cirque du Soleil-inspired fairy tale from Latvia, on Friday, October 13, 7:00 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. It’s the story of “Mr. B,” whose fast-paced life is getting him down. His journey through the fantastic world of Bubblelandia helps him rediscover joy. Told without dialogue through music, dance, bubbles, sand art, juggling, mime and more, it’s a show that all ages will enjoy.
The Fox Family Series presents theatrical events for families with children. The other two shows in the series are The Peking Acrobats on January 24, 2018, accompanied by musicians playing traditional Chinese instruments, and Rockin’ Road to Dublin on March 10, 2018, a show created by Riverdance’s Scott Doherty and veteran Celtic rocker Chris Smith. “Rockin’ Road” features classic Irish tunes, rock ‘n’ roll, and outstanding footwork. All Fox Family Series shows are held at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox and have a start time of 7:00 p.m., so that young children won’t be out too late.
The Fox Family Series is being launched as The Fox Theater marks the tenth anniversary of its restoration and reopening. As owner and steward of The Fox, one of the Spokane Symphony’s goals is to share the magnificent Art Deco theater with generations to come by offering memorable entertainment for younger audiences.
Super Diamond kicks off the Spokane Symphony’s pop concert season on October 14th for one performance only at 8:00 p.m. Super Diamond is the highly regarded Neil Diamond tribute band with Randy “Surreal Neil” Cordero in the lead, singing all of the superstar’s catchy hits. The Spokane Symphony, under the baton of guest conductor Rama Kolesnikow, will accompany Super Diamond. Super Diamond’s drummer is Spokane’s own Vince Littleton, a University High and EWU grad. This is a concert that old and new fans of Neil Diamond are sure to enjoy.
