Spokane Symphony Master Class: Peter Stumpf, cello
Before his performance with the Spokane Symphony on Saturday, September 9th & Sunday, September 10th, guest cellist Peter Stumpf will present a Master Class for local students on the afternoon of Friday, September 8th.
Those who wish to audition MUST submit a completed Master Class Application form with $10 Audition Fee payable to Spokane Symphony, short recommendation from private teacher (letter or email), and a copy of music for adjudicator. An accompanist is strongly recommended except for piano auditions.
This master class is free and open to the general public.
Spokane Symphony Guest Artist Master Classes
When available, Symphony guest artists lead master classes for local students, and students throughout the region via videoconferencing. Advanced students are auditioned by a Symphony musician, and four are selected to play in the Master Class. This provides students with the opportunity to work with a world class artist. All auditionees will gain feedback from a professional adjudicator.
By making Master Classes open to the public, it gives attendees insight into the technique required to play the instrument as well as the personality of the artist. All Master Classes are held at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox and are Free to the public. During the 2015-2016 season, eight Master Classes were presented, serving 168 attendees and participants.
